2. HISTORY OF CHUA TAU DA LAT
Thien Vuong Co Sat Pagoda was built in 1958 by Taoist practitioners of the Avatamsaka sect along with the Chinese Buddhist community. Initially, the pagoda was built modestly with three simple wooden halls and a tin roof. By 1989, the pagoda had undergone reconstruction, renovation, and acquired its current appearance.

Upon arriving at Thien Vuong Co Sat Pagoda, from the very first steps on the stone slabs, visitors will feel the uniqueness of the pagoda. The pagoda's architecture is built in a Chinese pagoda style combined with a communal hall, creating a unique and special architectural complex that showcases the distinctive characteristics of Thien Vuong Co Sat. The first destination is Tu Bi Bao Dien (Hall of Compassion).
Inside the central hall, there is a reclining Maitreya Buddha statue, 3m high. On both sides of the Maitreya Buddha statue are the Four Heavenly Kings, creating a solemn and unique atmosphere. Next is the main architectural work of the Pagoda – Quang Minh Bao Dien (Hall of Radiant Light), which is built very uniquely. Quang Minh Bao Dien is quadrilateral, 12m high and 12m long on each side, with two tiered roofs.

Furthermore, the roof of the Hall is adorned with images of two dragons gazing inwards.
This is a unique architectural structure, creating a magnificent and majestic Great Hall. Inside Quang Minh Bao Dien, the Western Pure Land Trinity is enshrined, consisting of Amitabha Buddha, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, and Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva. All three statues are 4m high, weigh about 1500kg, and are made of precious agarwood.
These three statues have an even more special feature: they were brought from Hong Kong by Venerable To Nha in 1958. This makes them the most distinctive feature of Thien Vuong Co Sat Pagoda, and also the religious belief of thousands of Buddhists.

Finally, we must mention the 10m tall statue of Shakyamuni Buddha seated on a lotus throne in the area behind the Pagoda. This large statue contributes to the grandeur of this special pagoda. With its unique architecture and historical formation, along with notable events, Thien Vuong Co Sat Pagoda has been and continues to be a destination for many tourists.
Those who have set foot in this special pagoda will surely not forget the image of the magnificent and splendid halls and the three special statues, not only for their material value but also for the spiritual value they embody.
Indeed, Thien Vuong Co Sat Pagoda not only possesses the beauty of unique architecture but also contains the soul and deep faith of many people. From those who dedicated their efforts to building it, to the silently supportive Buddhists, and even to the distant travelers who have visited and offered prayers.

Thien Vuong Co Sat Pagoda is truly an unmissable destination when visiting the misty land. This is a place for spiritual tranquility, helping to cleanse all worries.
