History of Da Lat Railway Station
Da Lat Railway Station began construction in 1932 and was completed in 1938, during the French colonial period. It was the first railway line in Vietnam, connecting Da Lat to Thap Cham Station in Phan Rang.
In 1972, the railway line was damaged by war, causing the station to cease operation. After liberation in 1975, the railway line was restored. However, the station now only serves tourism and no longer transports goods as before.
Architectural Design of Da Lat Station
Da Lat Station was designed with a unique architectural style, thanks to the talents of two renowned French designers.
Designers Moncet and Reveron drew inspiration from the majestic Langbiang mountain range. The station has a distinctive shape with 3 pointed spires and a very large clock on the front. The clock records the time Dr. Alexandre Yersin discovered Da Lat.
