As luck would have it, the first time I visited Da Lat on a chilly day, a friend took me to Là Việt coffee shop at 200 Nguyen Cong Tru. Since it was nighttime, the shop's sign was quite small, so you had to look carefully to find it.
Even now, I still remember the feeling of drinking a rich and complete cup of coffee for the first time. Complete from the flavor to the atmosphere and the weather.
After that, every time I visit Da Lat, I come back here to enjoy the wonderful flavor of each pure coffee. If you want to drink pure coffee in an airy, cool atmosphere, just visit Là Việt Coffee; I guarantee you won't regret it.
Atmosphere at Là Việt Coffee
Neither flashy nor colorful, La Viet Coffee is designed with a strong factory aesthetic, featuring two main colors: black and white. The space gives customers a feeling of closeness, warmth, and rustic charm, just like the people of Da Lat. The space in the shop is spacious and airy.
If my friend hadn't told me beforehand, I might have thought I was entering a coffee production workshop. In fact, calling it a coffee workshop wouldn't be wrong.
Là Việt Coffee is divided into two main areas. The central area, near the main entrance, is the dining space for customers, while the inner area is where coffee is prepared. Combining the dining space with the display area is also an appealing highlight for coffee lovers who visit.
The shop looks very Western with its tiled floor, and the surrounding walls are made of corrugated iron, creating a unique and impressive space. The tables and chairs, made of wooden tops and black iron legs, are arranged in a workshop style, making them quite comfortable for sitting.
The decoration in the shop is also simple, with a few boards listing the menu and packaging materials. Here you can see coffee machines, brewing tools, etc., arranged attractively, leaving an impression on viewers.
With gentle, deep music, Là Việt Coffee is truly an ideal coffee space for those who love tranquility or want a quiet space to work.
Quality of service at Là Việt Coffee
Looking at the menu, you can see that Là Việt Coffee also serves quite a few types of coffee. But the flavor is richer than the ones I've tried before. The reason might be due to different brewing methods that create different flavors.
At Là Việt Coffee, the Baristas always place brewing tools on a scale. I asked and learned that they have to brew with the correct water to coffee ratio. For example, Arabica coffee will be brewed with a ratio of 1:15 – 1:18, corresponding to 20g of coffee brewed with 300-360g of water.
In addition, the flavor of the coffee also depends heavily on the extraction time and the extraction method of each Barista.
If you are used to brewing coffee with hot water, you can come to Là Việt Coffee to experience brewing coffee with cold ice cubes. The cold brew method helps to extract effectively and retain the natural aroma of Arabica beans.
Besides coffee, La Viet Dalat also offers many types of pastries and fruit juices. In my opinion, the cakes are just average, nothing outstanding. Perhaps it's because my taste from the North is different, so I don't find them suitable.
Service quality at Là Việt coffee
I highly appreciate the working style in Da Lat, perhaps because the people of Da Lat are already gentle. Therefore, using the service of the staff here made me feel extremely satisfied. The staff are not only very knowledgeable about coffee but also very cheerful and enthusiastic.
Prices at Là Việt Coffee
Regarding quality, I find it comparable to shops in Hanoi, so I think it's reasonable. Coffee is about 25-60k, noodles are about 20-40k. Fruit juice is about 35-45k. Overall, compared to the service quality, I find the price very reasonable.
